Grandfather Vineyard and Winery
Back in March of this year Mike and I went to the Grandfather Vineyard and Winery on one of our early dates. We enjoyed it so much we went back in July on a perfect summer afternoon.
You turn off a busy NC highway and cross a bridge with grapevines growing on each side.
Once parked you head towards the tasting room and pass a lovely hydrangia in full bloom.
While one person gets the wine and glasses,
The other snags two chairs in the shade near the river. Then we sit and enjoy the wine, the day and each other's company.
The wine was really, really good. We drank two bottles and considered getting a third but I had to drive us to a friend's house way up in the mountains.
Everything was so peaceful that afternoon, even Kele and Lili shared the water bowl at the same time with no growling or snarling.
We sat and watched the river and commented on how you can't see the highway from your chairs in the summer but in the winter you can see every car that passes by.
Tiffany wanted to get in on the photos ops also with mom,,,,
And also dad.
